Happy Friday all…yes, I know. Virtually no posting lately. My mind is off chasing bees, and stumbling through the briers that life puts in our path.
Also, in case you haven’t heard already, Etta James passed away last week.
I can’t claim to be her biggest fan, but MAN – what pipes. Every run an executed skill instead of a flashy affectation. I pray Ms.James will find immortality, and that people sing her praises long after the stomach-churning bullshit Ke$has of the world are forgotten.
Maybe when my own time comes, I’ll meet Ms.James in a club. I’ll have a Scotch, slightly pressed, and just…listen.
Anyway…feelin a bit blue. But you know what that means:
MOTOWN!
Is it possible to play Stevie Wonder quietly?
Have a great weekend all, wherever you are.

Ever heard of a band called Leftover Cuties? Have a listen to their song called “Game Called Life”. I just learned of them and I must say…I find them quirky and unique. Her voice is different with a sweet, sultry sound. What do you think?

Hrm…she’s no Etta, that’s for sure. I’m not sure I would describe her as “sultry”, either. Gwen Stefani sweet, perhaps? I’ll reserve judgement.
Here’s the vid:

Of course, no one’s like Etta. Maybe I’m a sucker for ukelelees (spell check please).

The soothing, sultry sound of ukeleles?

Yeah, you’d play it quietly around Stevie himself, he’s blind, not deaf.

I’m trying to start a new trend. Ok, sultry’s a bad choice of words. I just heard Rumour Has It by Adele. LOVE IT!!! What’s your favorite Adele song?
